ROADBOOK CENTRE INC. (ROADBOOK for brevity) is a non-stock corporation committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since March 13, 2013. It is\n the first non-government organization (NGO) and civil society organization (CSO) in the province of Romblon that has been recognized and registered by the DSWD as a Licensed Auxiliary SWADA Resource Agency. ROADBOOK is currently engaged\n in Seaport Operation located at Azagra Port (Municipality of San Fernando Romblon, Sibuyan Island) known as Punta Cauit adjacent to the inherited lands of the Cometa Family being managed by ROADBOOK that facilitate and provide\n employment to Indigenous Peoples (IPs) communities and volunteers.<\/p>\n

In order to maintain and sustain its CSR, ROADBOOK managed inherited lands that are converted into Farm School\/Farm Tourism in line with the Republic Act (RA) 10816, otherwise known as the Farm Tourism Development Act of 2016\n and with RA 7686 known as the Dual Training System (DTS) Act of 1994 that is being administered by TESDA. These laws encourage farmers or owners to convert their properties into Tourist Farm destination and at the same time\n serve as a learning place that will generate income from the crops or harvests of the farm. The guests \/tourists\/trainees who will visit and stay for camping\/industry learning will plant any kind of agricultural seeds\/seedlings,\n while prospective community volunteers will focus on Agriculture and Clean Green Sustainable Environment.<\/p>\n

ROADBOOK aims to address the present poverty threshold and economic situation of the province where the inhabitants are mostly poor and potential areas for development are progressing slowly. Thus ROADBOOK programs are in\n support to poverty alleviation and economic development in the areas where ROADBOOK is present. <\/p>\n

To contribute in achieving the objective of the sustainable livelihood program (SLP) and attaining the administration’s ten-point socio-economic agenda and development goals as articulated in the Philippine Development Plan,<\/p>\n

ROADBOOK:<\/p>\n

a. Provides harmonized capacity-building and agriculture thru livelihood interventions to qualified program participants in the agreed target areas to improve their socio-economic conditions;<\/p>\n

b. Strengthens qualified program participants by organizing then into Community-Based Organization\u201fs (CBO\u201fs) for future linking to prospective private and\/or government market; and<\/p>\n

c. Develops and harnesses people\u201fs participation in all economic activity toward the development of the community through self-help and self-reliance.<\/p>\n

ROADBOOK, a DSWD GAPAS MIMAROPA awardee, also asserts that environmental protection and livelihood with access to basic services can CO-EXIST in Sibuyan, guided by the Theme: \u201cPangalagaan ang Kalikasan na may Kabuhayan\u201d. This commitment\n will be a journey to achieve, a way of life or \u201eForma De Vivir\u201d for the people they serve.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The First Home of ROADBOOK – Azagra Port <\/h3>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The original structure of the port, mainly made of wood, was built many decades ago. Through the initiative of the Department of transportation and Communication (DOTC),the construction of the concrete port (ramp and docking areas)\n begun in 1993 and was completed in 1996. From 1976 to 2013, various operators handled the operation of the port.<\/p>\n

Feb, 3, 2014 , ROADBOOK was given the Permit To Operate (PTO) by the Philippine Ports authority (PPA). With full support from the Local Government Units (LGUs), ROADBOOK was able to secure and submit the following required documents\n prescribed by the PPA so that ROADBOOK can operate with full authority, namely:<\/p>\n

Barangay Resolution. Municipal Resolution and Provincial Resolution for the Rehabilitation of the Port and Port Zone Delineation submitted to PPA and to the office of the President in Malaca\u00f1ang, Manila (2016-2019).<\/p>\n
